AI Summary

Summary of "Streamer Stays Awake For 12 DAYS! (ENDS BADLY!)"

1. The Sleep Deprivation Experiment: Normie’s 264-Hour Stream

  • A streamer named Normie attempted to stay awake for 12 days (264 hours) to break a world record, inspired by the infamous (but likely fictional) Russian sleep experiment from the 1940s.
  • The Russian experiment involved five political prisoners kept awake in a sealed room using stimulants for 15 days. The story claims they developed severe psychosis, self-mutilation, and extreme paranoia — a dark precedent for the dangers of prolonged wakefulness.
  • Normie’s attempt was not only physically grueling but also mentally taxing:
    • He experienced fading consciousness, collapses, and loss of control.
    • He had only a few hundred viewers during the first 8–10 days — minimal public interest.
    • Viewers eventually begged him to stop, and clips of friends pushing him awake went viral on Twitter.
  • Police were called for a welfare check due to concerns about his mental and physical health. Officers described him as a "complete idiot" but left after realizing their role wasn’t to enforce sleep rules.
  • Despite the warnings, he continued the stream until it was mass-reported on YouTube, which banned the stream for violating community guidelines on harmful and dangerous acts.
  • He moved to Twitch, which also banned him, then to Rumble — where he finally completed the 264-hour mark.
  • His parents were present and cheering when he passed the 260-hour mark — a deeply concerning and unusual moment.
  • The video raises serious questions about the authenticity of the stream, with many viewers suspecting it was fake or staged.

2. Guinness World Records & the Reality of Long-Term Wakefulness

  • Guinness World Records banned attempts to stay awake for extended periods in 1997 due to the health risks and ethical concerns.
  • The officially recognized record is held by Ronald McDonald, who went 453 hours and 40 minutes without sleep in 1986 — roughly 18 days.
  • Experts question whether such a feat is physically possible or even sustainable.
  • The video emphasizes that sleep deprivation is not just uncomfortable — it is dangerous, and long-term wakefulness can lead to severe mental and physical health issues.
  • The creator personally shares that they once did a 17-hour stream (with sleep) to get KSI to call them — a reminder that even short streams should not be done without rest.

3. Liquid Water on Mars – A Breakthrough Discovery

  • Scientists have discovered evidence of liquid water beneath Mars’ surface — 10 to 20 miles underground.
  • This water is believed to be trapped in cracks of underground rock, forming a global subsurface ocean.
  • The discovery came from NASA’s InSight Lander, which recorded seismic activity (Mars quakes, asteroid impacts) for four years.
  • By analyzing the speed of seismic waves, scientists inferred the presence of liquid water in subsurface reservoirs.
  • This discovery is significant for astrobiology — it suggests that Mars may have once had conditions suitable for life, even if only microbial.
  • The findings imply that habitability existed on Mars in the past, and could still exist today in underground environments.

4. Extreme Heat in China – A Cultural Phenomenon

  • China recently experienced its hottest month in recorded history — temperatures so high that flip-flops melt, pancakes cook, and cars are said to get pregnant (a hyperbolic, humorous exaggeration).
  • In response to the extreme heat, people flood into supermarkets and malls not to shop, but to escape the heat using air conditioning.
  • Crazy behaviors include:
    • Sitting on the ground with feet inside refrigerators.
    • Sitting on meat-filled refrigerators and placing products under their armpits to cool down.
  • These actions are not just unusual — they are a cultural response to extreme heat and economic frugality.
  • Ikea in China became known as "The People’s Bedroom" because people fall asleep on beds and couches — so common that the company eventually gave up trying to stop it.
  • Young people are now using Ikea as a social space, even engaging in dating or casual meetups on couches and beds.
  • Supermarkets report 300–400 people daily cooling off in stores — a sign of how deeply heat affects daily life.
  • The older generation in China avoids air conditioning due to frugality and cost concerns, leading to widespread reliance on free, public spaces to escape heat.

Conclusion

The video blends a disturbing and questionable real-life attempt at extreme wakefulness with fascinating scientific discoveries and cultural anecdotes. While the streamer’s 12-day wakefulness is presented as a bold challenge, it is widely criticized as dangerous, unethical, and potentially fake — highlighting the risks of pushing human limits without proper oversight. Meanwhile, the discovery of liquid water on Mars and China’s extreme heat culture offer compelling, real-world insights into science and human behavior under stress.

Key Takeaway:

Do not attempt prolonged wakefulness. It is not only physically and mentally harmful — it’s illegal under international law and banned by Guinness World Records.
The story serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of extreme challenges, while showcasing the power of science and culture to adapt to extreme conditions.

this week Ukraine turned the tables and started invading Russia an athlete tragically drowned only 100 m from the Finish Line it is so hot in China that cars are getting pregnant you heard that right this streamer just tried to stay awake for 12 days but 230 hours in it got ugly and even cops showed up to his house and yeah my uh evil looking cardboard cutout twin thing has arrived uh and for anyone new to the channel watching this first time this must be very confusing for you I'll explain everything all of that and so much more C let's get cracking okay let's jump into the first story of the day have you guys ever heard of the Russian sleep experiment and this is where things get dark immediately I mean a lot of us grew up on this story but for anyone who doesn't know it's basically an urban legend that in the 1940s Russian scientists wanted to find a way to keep their soldiers awake for as long as possible so they conducted secret experiments involving five political Prisoners the prisoners were kept in a sealed room with gas Bas stimulants keeping them awake for 15 days remember that time frame and they would even promise their freedom if they could remain awake for the entire duration initially the prisoners behav pretty normally but as the days passed they began to exhibit extreme paranoia and psychosis and by the ninth day one prisoner started screaming uncontr controllably just keeps on going until his vocal cords broke and others tore apart the books they were provided with they smeared the pages with their own feces and then slapped them on the window so the scientists couldn't look in the researchers so terrified by the violence and the the insanity they completely stopped all communication with the prisoners and when they finally entered the chamber on the 15th day they discovered a gruesome scene the prisoners had mutilated themselves and even begged to be kept awake he was terrified of falling asleep the experiment was abruptly ended but the surviving prisoners displayed superhuman strength they were resistant to sedatives and they were pleading to be exposed to the stimulant gas again okay now obviously that story is not exactly based in fact but it sets up a nice little precedent for what we're about to talk to because this streamer named normie just attempted to beat the world record for staying awake for the longest period of time and boy it got ugly now warning before I even speak about the sleep deprivation is clust is torture and it's illegal under international law and because of the potential for the long-term effects of attempting something like this Guinness World Records do not accept any of these attempts anymore they banned that [ __ ] in 1997 if I'm correct now one of the crazy Parts is that for the first 8 to n days of norie just not sleeping uh he only had a couple of hundred viewers on his stream he was putting himself through literal torture and there was hardly anyone watching I mean just imagine he went through the whole thing and no one even noticed I mean to be fair doing this all for views alone is crazy enough but then you take that away and bro just literally doing it for fun at this point but that isn't what ended up happening because things started to get really serious like he started fading in and out of Consciousness or collapsed on the floor and look like when I'm talking about the really bad stuff about this I don't actually know if it's the sleep deprivation that is caused some of this or if he genuinely has mental health problems I mean and I mean that genuinely like Alex play them this [Music] clip 9 minutes I was out for 9 minutes every night 9 minutes I'm now seeing all of this viewers rightfully begged him to stop and in clips of his friends keeping him awake started going viral on Twitter and this is where things started really blowing up people began questioning whether this was real or fake because of just the like absurdity of it and for those who believed it is real they said it was incredibly dangerous and stupid he hired his friends to push him and keep him awake throughout the entire period uh but despite this people became so concerned that they called the police not long after two officers and an ambulance arrived at his house for a welfare check so I'm just ringing just to cover off from the police side of things to see whether um ambulance will be required because I don't want him to have major health complications as soon as we leave now after checking up on him the cops said that they thought he was a complete idiot but because you telling people to go to bed isn't really part of their job they eventually left against all advice he decided to continue the stream until it was mass reported on YouTube and they subsequently banned the stream for violating their Community guidelines around harmful and dangerous acts only 10 hours away from his 264h hour goal he moved over to twitch but they banned his ass too after pleading with Twitter and Elon Musk to let him stream on there he finally moved to rumble of all places and he finished the stream there and like watching this believe it or not as he passed the 260 4 hour mark his parents were there clapping and cheering him on which is wild thing to do I don't know surely if your child was doing something as crazy as this you wouldn't be supporting it that again that's if this is real I don't know I mean the whole thing was streamed so hard just fake a stream anyway once he completed this he started a sleep stream where he passed out for about 20 hours straight and probably by the time you're watching this it's still going when I'm recording it it's still going so yeah wild but saying all of this the problem is uh you know there's two kind of World Records one of them which is the most accepted is that 264h hour mark but according to the Guinness World Records they say that uh the actual world record is from R Ron Robert Robert McDonald's Ronald um and he went 453 hours and 40 minutes without sleeping in 1986 so that's not even comprehensible that's about 18 days roughly I I don't know if that's possible I don't know surely it's not but anyway absolutely absurd story and again this is like do not ever think this is appropriate to do I did it once 17 hours I did a stream but I did sleep and that was to get KSI to call me but I did sleep okay 17 hours on a stream is pretty impressive anyway right moving on okay this next one is actually genuinely massive for the first time ever scientists have discovered just yesterday that there is evidence that there is liquid water slushing around on Mars yeah so here's what that means for potential life the scientists have known for a while now that there used to be entire oceans on Mars you know billions of years ago similar to that on Earth obviously there's nothing there today so the question that they all asking is where has all of this water gone now prior to this new discovery all evidence pointed to the water either evaporating or being frozen on the poles due to Mars's atmosphere deteriorating but now thanks to this new research published yesterday it suggests that Mars may be drenched under the surface with enough water hiding in the cracks of underground rocks to form an entire Global ocean that's a lot of water so one of the potential answers as to where all the water on Mars went well it looks like the lead scientist said it most likely would have seeped from the surface underground now the mechanisms they use to make this discovery gets a little bit more complicated so stick with me but back in 2018 NASA's inside Lander arrived on Mars and its function is essentially to detect seismic activity on the planet for four straight years this thing just sat on the surface recording all of the vibrations caused by Mars Quakes no not earthquakes Mars Quakes uh asteroid impacts Etc and then by measuring how fast these seismic waves traveled scientists have been able to work out what material they are most likely to have been moving through and upon analyzing all of this data it has led them to believe that about 10 to 20 mi under M's surface there were entire reservoirs of liquid water and what could that mean for Life on Mars you ask well here is where things get interesting long before anyone knew that this was actually a realistic possibility astrobiologists theorized that if Mars did have a subsurface ocean it could meet the criteria necessary for sustaining life even if that life was simple like microbial life but even if that wasn't the case these researchers say that these findings also mean that there were environments that could possibly be habitable woo we're going to Ms boys so not only have we discovered dark oxygen but now there's water on Mars before GTA 6 wild let's move on okay let's talk about the heat waves in China because they are actually insane recently China had their hottest month in observed modern history that could melt flip-flops cook pancakes and even get CS pregnant if they were um left out in the sun for too long I'm just seeing Alex play them that clip a couple more times of that guy burning his ass it's um it's potentially one of my favorite Clips on the internet I don't know why bro really jumped like a grasshopper anyway here is what blew my mind I recently discovered that when it gets really hot in China people escape the heat by flooding into supermarkets and malls not to shop but just to chill in the air conditioning okay and you think well maybe that's not a problem we just wait they will fill up the aisles and staircases yeah they they'll sit right next to the products for example this video shows a man Ling on the ground while just chilling on his phone so casually with his foot inside the fridge right next to the drinks and then elsewhere in the store and just warning when you're watching this one another guy can be seen sat on a meat filled refrigerator taking the produce and putting it under his armpits to cool down that is a violation of all things human right there just imagine you you get these product and you try and open it with your teeth or God forbid you open it and then you know when you put stuff back in and the packet is kind of still open imagine that packet rubs on your sausages or you won't need any more salt I'll tell you that anyway what's crazy is that this Behavior actually is not that uncommon when Ikea for example first launched in China it was known as The People's bedroom why you ask cuz look everywhere I mean at first Ikea tried to fight it and they had specific staff to go around and ask people not to fall asleep on the beds or fall asleep on the couches but due to the sheer frequency that it would happen they just gave up they just gave up and now it's the people's bedroom so much in so that uh there are also reports here that I'm reading that say young people young people in particular are using Ikea I'm sorry this is so wild they're using Ikea is almost like a dating SL hookup spot because uh you know they're sitting on the couches together they're meeting other young singles and even laying on the beds together I think I think that takes the try before you buy motto is it a motto well it takes it too far whatever it is one Supermarket said they have 3 to 400 people every single day just cooling off in their store and here's the thing about all of this according to reports it's not that people don't have AC most young people they'll be willing to turn it on is that the older generation in China which have been living Frugal all of their lives well they want to look for free Alternatives because they say turning on AC is just a waste of money you're just burning your money they'd rather either heat or find somewhere that's free that's just Dylan falling but because the majority of these groups are made up of elderly people just think about how hard it is for stuff because you know even though and this is I'm quoting this it can start to smell like bare feet and sweat and that smells SL stench disturb the other customers man that really made it real I don't know why so if they ask them to leave they say that they often get upset and they say that what they're doing by being in the supermarket is doing the supermarket a favor so they kick off and then just think about it for the stuff what kind of person is going to throw some frail old Chinese lady out into the burning scorching hot heat yeah so you probably just let him chill there and here's the thing when I was reading the comments a lot of the people that weren't from China were saying like how nice this is because they're actually all just like you know all the older people are just chilling together they're playing cards they're socializing and they said this is great cuz let's be honest older people in Western countries and this is not even this is a genuinely sad topic that always makes me a bit like when I talk about it well they are lonely as hell like often a lot of these it's just a sad way to end life just being lonely because they often go days without any human contact at all and as we all know loneliness is so bad for your health it's the equivalent I've heard this before that it is the equivalent to smoking 15 cigarettes a day being lonely so in that regard it's great that you know old people aren't lonely they got this but then I read a bunch of other people that were from China and they said that a lot of these older people are really rude they leave a lot of trash they don't have a lot of regard for you know the store owners and they ruin businesses by always sitting in the seats that are meant for customers and then I was like damn now I'm conflicted anyway kind of a wild tangent um but now you know why heat waves in China are absolutely insane let's move on okay let's talk about it the Australian break dance ah I'm sure we've all seen the clips by now and boy this is a good one oh and you know what's crazy you know like I've sent Alex a I've covered a lot of dark things and I've sent him all of these videos to edit but you want to know what's crazy he sent me a voice note and he said out of all of those videos uh this was the most painful video you've ever sent me to to edit so that's saying something I've just remembered this is this is about the Olympics I can't I can't play any of the videos Alex abort abort abort because last time as we all know they blocked completely the whole video so if you want to see any of the other news I can't talk about this one this is so annoying so I had to get taken down on Tik Tok for some [ __ ] or on YouTube I get blocked for for some copyright okay saying that I am working on a place where I can just put all of the the stuff that gets taken down I working that to keep in mind but anyway let's move on okay actually I can still speak about the Olympics because this is an interesting one now that the Olympics is over and everyone's heading back home South Korea said Ain no way you guys are bringing those Paris bed bugs back here so they just deployed the country's first ever and only bed bug sniffer dog at the country's main airport now as we all probably know Paris made Global headlines late last year for their massive bed bug outbreak it was on trains it was in people's beds people throwing mattresses out of their Windows because it was so bad so you know hearing about this and to stop it spreading to their country Korea deployed a 2-year-old Beagle named SEO now seea will be uh detecting the odor of the pheromones released by the bed bugs didn't no that was a thing weird and like not only is SEO like the most skilled beloved dog in the world capable of sweeping a standard hotel room in under 2 minutes but they're also going to be disinfecting any flights that come directly from Paris every week and also they've got the airport quarantine Services right on call if any outbreak is detected on an aircraft or at the airport so yeah they're getting locked in an R to every other country that doesn't have a what is it a seo seo yeah yes screwed including the UK [ __ ] anyway now that it's all over with Olympics I never want to speak about you again not because it was bad it's just because [ __ ] you Olympics moving on okay this next one is wild because I have genuinely no idea how this actually happened an athlete has just tragically passed away this week after he disappeared under the water in the last 100 m of the swimming segment of the swimming and running event 28-year-old Lazar DUI was competing at the CrossFit Games in Texas no this is not the Olympics and I swear I'm never going to speak about them again [ __ ] you Olympics and in footage you can see an athlete that is suspected to be Lazar struggling to stay afloat the video shows what appears to be two lifeguards on paddle boats right by Lazar but despite this he disappears under the water and his body was only recovered an hour later by the diving team so I don't know how that was possible another video shows what appears to be a spectator diving in after he heard that Lazar is missing so an hour is wild now it's not currently clear how he was missed by the safety team but the CEO of the CrossFit game said this tragedy happened on our watch and because of that we have initiated an independent third party investigation to thoroughly understand the circumstances surrounding the event and I mean it's just so incredibly bizarre because he's clearly incredibly fit and you'd think if he was struggling for as long as we can see that athletes struggling for you know he would shout to the two life Gods right there but no it doesn't seem that like that has happened maybe in my mind it's like it could be a heart issue that happened pretty suddenly but that is pure speculation because the medical examiner's office has not yet listed the cause of his death the CrossFit Games also decided to continue the event despite his death which as you can imagine came off as quite a controversial move a GoFundMe to support lazar's family began with a target of 200,000 and it's already gone over 400,000 with a portion of it saying to his girlfriend brother friends and family we extend our deepest condolences lazar's Legacy of approaching life with kindness and humor will always be remembered that's mad moving on great all right from one tragedy to another um didn't mean to put these back to back I'm sure we've already all seen clips and we're talking about yet another plain story that a disaster plain story on this channel it's becoming a theme promise I'm not doing it on purpose and at least I can reassure you and say it is not Boeing so uh with their Intergalactic problems you'd be surprised anyway late last week we saw absolutely Wild footage coming out of Brazil showing a plane literally dropping out of the sky twirling in fact and you know it's weird because they usually they go like this but this one was just I don't know like this whatever anyway we are now learning that of the 62 people killed in that plane crash eight of them were Cancer Specialists on their way to an oncology conference but and just imagine this uh the regional medical Council said that there was actually supposed to be 15 cancer doctors scheduled to be on board that 2-hour flight but seven of them decided to take an earlier plane and it's not just that multiple passengers were actually late for this flight because they went to the wrong gate when they arrived at the right one they were told you're not allowed to get on this flight because it's overbooked which that in itself is pretty damn rare they didn't get on the flight couple hours later it crashed and everyone on board including the pilot died can you just think about those people that were supposed to be on those flight like how they what they would be thinking right now I don't know if you've ever heard of the burnt toast Theory but this is freaking it it's basically the idea that all of those things that we perceive in the moment is really inconvenient or annoying like burning your toast and having to take an extra 3 minutes to make new two pieces actually set you off on a new path in life one that could save it I mean I'm I'm not going to lie the first thing that I thought when I did hear about this burn toast theory was you know what if those 3 minutes that you took actually put you in the path of a freaking 18wheeler running a red light and then it did you die because of it because there's the flip side anyway sorry I really ruined a positive thing anyway think about the first one you know good things you go you forget your keys amazing you've probably saved your life because of it keep that in your mind all right anyway back on point as of right now we have no idea what caused the plane to crash the crew did not call for any help or report any adverse weather conditions and some of the videos of the crash show that the sky was was clear when the plane started spiraling in that unusual circular motion and although we don't know for sure initial analysis suggest that it could be due to severe ice on the wings and propeller blades authorities have just recovered the plane's blackbox so I'll keep you guys updated do I want to keep you guys updated because if we find out exactly how this happened and it's more common than you think then you're going to be terrified so we'll see if I keep you updated just to manage your fear moving on oh this one's pretty interesting so for everyone that's kind of fell out of the loop of what's going on with the Russia and Ukraine war even like me I report on news but I've kind of fallen out of the loop too well here's a wild place to pick back up on uh Ukraine turn the tables and Ukraine's now invading Russia yeah here are the details so last week they actually entered Sovereign Russian territory which may I remind you a while ago Putin said if any Ukrainian troops step foot over that border to Russia then they will clap back in a nuclear way anyway that hasn't happened yet so don't worry and despite a lot of people saying that you know this incursion was just going to be slapped down by Russia pretty quick not exactly because this morning it got even crazier Russia just evacuated civilians from a second region who would have thought the acting governor of this area was in meetings with Putin and told him that Ukraine Controls 28 villages in K they are 12 km deep into Russia roughly 880,000 people have been evacuated from their homes and 2,000 Russian citizens may I add uh are still in those areas occupied by Ukrainian forces Putin's response to all of of this is that we will have to kick the enemy out of our territory and they will see a worthy response and like hearing all of that just to give you a bit of perspective on how significant this is this is the first occupation of Russian territory since World War 2 yeah so pretty wild place to jump back in on with all of this going on yeah but I'll keep you updated on that thing because that's going to probably flare up and uh un annoyingly again another thing flaring up and escalating I haven't even giving you an update on whole Middle East situation but hopefully I will soon all right last piece of updating that I've got to give to you is my man in the corner over here now as you can see from the intro I've already unpackaged him so Alex I want I want you to show them my initial reaction when I first unboxed this when I post on you on Tik Tok play them that clip somehow I have already arrived in the m and I'm fragile now unpackaged many things in my life but uh none as weird and personal as this why so excited my God look at it the first thing that you see is what he sees oh my gosh the question is am I taller than me oh my God sh brother is massive nah this is insulting oh and you know what's actually crazy so since I posted that first video Walmart has now taken the item off of sale so uh they know they were doing some cheeky stuff what the hell do I do with this now so yeah as you can see brother is just uh little bit taller than me hm you bastard how eight HD this is it's actually really weird cuz I've I've I've been having this like stood up around the house not in a weird way okay I know I get it it's weird that I have a cut out of myself but but at the same time why does this exist and also how does it exist because I've never known like no one's ever reached out to me and said like hey can we sell you and I don't get a cut for any of this which also feels kind of like you can't sell me profit off of me and then I also don't I don't make any money from it which please don't buy and I've seen comments and they're like oh I'm going to buy one don't do do not buy cuz that it just makes me feel even worse oh so yes sorry I like around the house of having if I had him around the house and honestly your brain when you turn a corner and you walk into a room and this is standing there it gives you like this weird feeling because you see that and you're like that is a person and then your brain is like okay that's not a person it's it's just a the caral cutout and i' like I know that it's in the room but it still scares the [ __ ] out of me because you know brother's in old black he looks evil and like he's tall as hell let's be honest would it be weird if I if I had this in the [Laughter] studio that is so weird that is so weird man looks like a like a dirty like a dirty stripper in like what the hell okay I can't put him in the back that's just so weird like I don't know man that's crazy I don't even know what to do with this thing do I keep him in the back or is that just weird if I am ever late he gets whippings if I see any disrespect you get whippings so maybe he can be on the torture wall now I'm not going to lie I don't really want to break him I was late on today's video wasn't I I was I'll give him a light whipping okay how dare you be late yeah that was pretty pathetic I'll do one more how dare you be late all right love you guys and I will see you on time on Thursday but until then w
