Ah, okay. This might be one of the wildest pieces of news I've ever had to cover because what started off is, you know, just a few loud cheers and maybe a few claps to the chicken jockey scene in the new Minecraft movie. Chicken jockey. Well, it's now turned into global chaos. That's not even an overstatement. Drinks and popcorn are being pulled. Movies are being cancelled and ended early. Confetti is being popped. Fights are breaking out. Police are being called. Police to a Minecraft movie. Actual live chickens are being snuck in. Somebody bodys slammed an employee. Body slammed for a Minecraft movie. And it's now got so out of control that cinemas literally around the world are having to address it and even put out warnings and notices before people go into the cinema. We even got a firsthand account of one of the employees working at these cinemas saying, "This has been the worst movie I've ever had to work during in my time of working at a movie theater. The people coming in to watch this movie have been the most hostile, mean, disruptive, and dirty people ever." So, how the hell did we get here? Why are people behaving like this? And how is it gone from, you know, a few cinemas in the US to across the nation and now around the globe? Well, that strange topic is what we're talking about today. But before we do, let's just take a quick moment to honor today's sacrificial lamb. Bro said, "After going through all my life's memories, I think I've had enough life. I sacrifice myself for people who haven't yet subscribed. Thank you, good sir. Stop the yapping and let's get cracking." Okay, before we begin, yes, I know the room's mess. I'm literally about to head to the airport right now to go back to the UK from Texas. I know, sad times. Anyway, we'll talk about everything in a second, but let's just get on with it. Okay, so on April the 4th, a movie that people have been waiting literally over a decade for finally dropped. But the wild thing about a Minecraft movie when it dropped for the opening weekend among critics it kind of flopped. I guess like most anticipated Hollywood films right now. I mean on Rotten Tomatoes right now it only has 47%. So why the hell has it surpassed Barbie and it's it's actually become Warner Brothers third biggest opening ever? The only two that's beaten this one for Warner Brothers is Batman and Harry Potter. Its opening weekend globally got 344 million. So, how is this possible? Because usually if something gets pretty bad reviews, not that many people go and see it. Well, two main reasons. Minecraft, as we all probably know, is the most popular game in the world. Over 300 million copies sold, 170 million monthly active gamers. So, yeah, there's a pretty big audience that would at least want to see what a Minecraft movie would look like. And then secondly, and uh what we're really going to be talking about today is oh my gosh, the uh the cinema reactions for people watching this has gone insanely viral on TikTok. Now, I've seen clips of people like overreacting and cheering for a bunch of different scenes, but nothing like the chicken jockey scene. Oh my gosh. Now, before we get into it, for any non-M players here, Chicken Jockey is essentially a little in-game reference to a very rare mob that spawns in the wild like 1% of the time. And in the film, the delivery of that line is like super I guess over the top chicken. And I guess it just immediately became a little bit of a a meme, especially to overreact to like when he says it. [Applause] All right, I'm explaining a joke here and it and it sounds terrible, but you get it. And at the start, I'm not sure if you saw, but it was just cheering and clapping and that was pretty funny. But then people started posting these videos online. People began trying to oneup each other. And now it's essentially become a trend or a meme to see who can perform, can do to carry out the wildest reaction possible. And I'm not going to lie, it started out pretty funny, but I think I think it's now just gone too far. Bro, just imagine you're a single father and you're bringing your two kids that you get to see once every weekend or month and you're just trying to see the movie with your two kids and then listen listen to how loud it is from the [Music] outside. Now, let's let's just go through like level one, two, I don't know where we get with this because level one of this madness I would probably say is this one. I say chicken, you say jockey. Chicken. Chicken. Now, yeah, we got some guy shouting during adverts. It's annoying for the average movie goer. It doesn't disturb the actual movie. That's the most important part. Level two of the madness. Well, we start to encroach and cut in onto the movie cuz we got things like kids jumping in front of the screen in their underwear. I mean, in one theater, we've got like sirens. Sirens going off three times. In another one, an employee comes out and starts pausing. He comes and pauses the movie. I've never seen that before. And then he says like, if you guys continue, you're going to get kicked out and you won't get a refund. Level three, we're still not actually that crazy compared to what's to come. And yes, there's some, you know, stringers and toilet paper being thrown. And yes, there's some strange kids windmilling, I think it would be, with their t-shirts. But notice that, you know, there's not any popcorn or drinks being thrown. And it's just kind of like one group in the cinema. Level four, we start to get a little worse because this is the level where we see popcorn uh being thrown alongside the toilet paper. And you know, the popcorn much harder to clean up and much more annoying if it gets on you and in your clothes. Now, level five is just when it is pure insanity and chaos. And there's one video which I'd like to highlight which is particularly insane. [Applause] We got people popping confetti. We got drinks being thrown, probably milkshakes and coke. We've got someone getting on another guy's shoulders in a Minecraft movie. And not just that, but holding a real life chicken. How did you even get it in there? And then on top of all of that chaos, the lights get turned off and the movie gets cancelled. So yeah, this is probably the level where it's like this is way way too much. And if you are that single father with your two kids, imagine. But there is a level six somehow, right? And level six is reserved for only two incidents. Someone body slammed an employee at the theater and the police got called. Yeah, level six is just like this is this is not even funny anymore. This is like what the hell police the guys in the back that bodys slammed an employee, all of you guys are not welcome here anymore. If you couldn't hear, the police basically came in and said, "Those guys at the back who bodys slammed an employee, all of you are not welcome here anymore." And you know, not only, you know, for this Minecraft movie are employees getting physically assaulted, but just look at what they have to clean up after a bunch of these these movies. And this is like multiple times a day. Yeah, I get it for anyone in the comments. It is their job to clean up, but they get an hourly wage to clean up. Yeah. A few little popcorn kernels here and there, maybe some empty packets. They don't get paid to clean up chicken feathers and vomit. Yes, there is a video of someone's vomit. Someone vomited on the floor for this. I don't know whether it was because of the chaos they purposely did it. There is a video. I don't think we're going to show it. I don't know, Alex. Are we going to show it? Maybe not. If you can't see it there, we're not showing it. I mean, it's got so bad that cinemas in countries around the world like Australia, the United Kingdom, the US, of course, they're being forced to, you know, post up signs warning viewers before they go and watch the movie to not do any susit. The reports say that these signs are basically saying anyone engaging in antisocial behavior like loud cheering, clapping, or throwing things will be removed from the venue without a refund. Cine World on Tik Tok, they even posted a video of two guys leaving the cinema but then being given brooms and trash bags by the cleaners to go clean their own mess up. Bro, what what has the internet done to us? Because this is this is not the Minecraft movie, right? This is when it becomes a trend on the internet. And look, I'm not going to lie. I'm I am kind of conflicted because yes, on the one hand, this is a thing for people to do. You know, people have paid good money to go and watch that film in peace and instead they get popcorn and drinks thrown on their head and cancelled early. I'm sure they get refunds, but still. And of course, let's just point out destroying the theater by itself, that's just wrong. It's ruining the employees day and probably worse. It's completely inconsiderate for the next group who have to come in and sit on those seats or maybe have to have their movie cancelled or delayed because they're still cleaning up. Then on the other hand, at least at least at the start, the whole chicken jockey thing, it kind of feels like one massive global bonding moment. It's a strange shared joke, you know, where people from all different backgrounds around the world can scream two words in the dark and lose their minds together. In a weird way, it's kind of beautiful. Alex, wipe your tears. All right, I can feel you tearing up. Alex is a big He's really into the law. Wipe your tears. You have deadlines to meet, but you know, whatever. Like apart from it being a beautiful This is way too deep. But look, it's not it's it's not a fun shared joke anymore. Let's be honest. People took it way too far. You you started vomiting. All right. We we it stopped being a funny shared joke when you started vomiting and bringing chickens in there. Anyway though, at the minute, I mean, it is only getting crazier. So, uh I I dread to think where this is going. But as all trends do, chickens are they kind of die off pretty quickly. So, if you are trying to see this movie unhared, I'm sure you will have the opportunity pretty soon. But what do you guys think? Let me know in the comments all your thoughts. Is this just disturbingly shitty or is there a funny, wholesome side to it? Update on my life. As you can see, I'm literally heading off to the airport in I don't even have my watch. Great. An hour and a half and I need to finish packing and send this thing off to Alex and then hopefully have time at the airport to do a thumbnail because this is going out tonight. I didn't want to miss a single video while I was in Texas. And if this goes out all good, sweet on time, then I'll tell you, Alex and I completed it. I think that deserves a round of applause and a subscribe. And I also might have a little surprise for you when I get home. A little something something uh of that variety. Anyway, I'll see you back home at the News Daddy Empire garage in a couple of days. But until then, I love you and I'll see you soon. Chicken jockey.
